Two online and mobile surveys were conducted in 2010 and 2011 to better understand how people with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) identify with and feel about living with the disease. Please take time to review the full data to better understand the emotional journey of those living with MBC.

In 2011 we received 760 total survey responses (699 online and 61 mobile). Overall, the responses revealed MBC patients feel their own family and friends do not understand the difference between early stage and MBC and don't know what to say or how to help. MBC patients feel like it is the little things that make the biggest difference – sending a card or just making a simple phone call to check-in.

In 2010 we received 707 total survey responses (660 online and 47 mobile). From the survey, we learned MBC patients feel frightened, overwhelmed and want people to know that this is a disease with no cure; however, they also want people to know they are living each day to its fullest and are grateful for the little things in life – like spending time with family and friends.
